Wellcome has been awarded the Certificate of Merit at the Hong Kong ICT Awards 2025: Smart Mobility (Smart Logistics) category with its project “Picking Model Evolution: Transforming Slow-Moving Inventory”.
Organised by the Digital Policy Office of the HKSAR Government and supported by leading industry associations, The Hong Kong ICT Awards recognise brands with excellence in innovations and applications in information and communications technology (ICT), spotlighting initiatives that drive innovation and transformation across industries.
Wellcome partnered with Geek+ to revolutionise slow-moving inventory management by introducing autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) and a hybrid picking system.
Unlike traditional approaches that focus solely on storage capacity, this innovation turns passive storage into a dynamic operational asset. By integrating picking and sorting capabilities into the storage framework, Wellcome optimised warehouse space through dynamic slotting and multi-level storage. The pallet-to-person solution also enhances logistics efficiency.
The automated system streamlines processes and provides real-time warehouse slotting data for better decision-making. It minimises repetitive manual labour, improves safety, and enables team members to focus on higher-value tasks. This accelerates product movement from distribution centres to stores, ensuring better on-shelf availability, fresher selections, and an enhanced customer experience.
Beyond operational gains, the initiative supports sustainability goals by reducing energy consumption and material waste. This achievement reflects the dedication and innovation of the Wellcome team to advance smart logistics in retail.
Congratulations to the team for driving transformation and earning this prestigious recognition!
