Increasing Pressure on Healthcare Systems
In Hong Kong and other dense urban cities, public healthcare systems face sustained pressure from patients seeking care for minor and routine health needs. Limited access to conveniently located clinics has increased reliance on hospital centric services, contributing to congestion and long wait times. Community based healthcare solutions are therefore increasingly important in improving access to timely and appropriate care.
Delivering Pharmacy Led Community Healthcare
Through an extensive neighbourhood presence, Mannings seeks to address this issue by embedding healthcare services into our services, enabling earlier intervention and more confident management of minor health conditions.
Mannings delivers pharmacist led initiatives that complement the public healthcare system, including instore consultations, medication support and prescription collection. These services are supported by partnerships with healthcare providers and public institutions.
Improving Access, Convenience and Measurable Outcomes
Since launch, the PharmaCare Programme has operated at over 60 Mannings stores in Hong Kong and expanded to Macau in 2025. The programme has facilitated more than 60,000 visits, serving over 110,000 members, with an average customer rating of 4.7 out of 5, helping to reduce pressure on hospitals through timely community based care.

Complementing this, the Hospital Authority Community Collection Service also enables patients to collect prescriptions, including refrigerated items, at nearly 60 Mannings pharmacy stores via the ‘HA Go’ app. By reducing waiting times in hospitals and enabling pharmacist consultation at the point of collection, the service improves convenience for patients while supporting safer medication use.
The impact and quality of these initiatives have been recognised externally, including the Corporate Brand Awards of Excellence from the Hong Kong Economic Journal and the Corporate Social Responsibility Award at the Business Awards of Macau 2025, underscoring Mannings’ role in advancing accessible, trusted and community focused healthcare solutions.
