Lucky Supermarket is taking meaningful steps to make our supply chain greener, and it's already happening on the roads we use every day.
Since December last year, we have been rolling out electric vehicles (EVs) across our delivery network in Phnom Penh and selected provincial routes, resulting in reduction in carbon emissions of approximately 8.3 tonnes. Working closely with our logistics partner Vireak Buntham Express (VET), what started as a pilot has turned into a commercial agreement, proving that sustainability and operational efficiency can go hand in hand.
Today, around 50% of our delivery routes that were previously served by diesel trucks are now supported by EVs. This is a significant milestone for our operations and a clear signal of our commitment to doing things more responsibly, without compromising the service our customers rely on. Building on this progress, we're aiming to reach up to 80% EV coverage by the end of the year.
By partnering with VET's EV fleet, we're modernising our supply chain for the long term and reducing the environmental impact of our deliveries while continuing to serve communities across Cambodia efficiently and at scale. The collaboration with VET helps us move faster toward more sustainable ways of working and realise our shared ambition to advance greener logistics solutions for Cambodia's retail sector.
These steps also support DFI's broader commitment to reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions across our operations and contributes to our shared sustainability goals. Together with key partners, these steps are helping us build a more responsible, future-ready Lucky Supermarket.
